There are no stupid questions, only stupid people.
At the museum we have an elevator that is locked so that children won’t play on it. If someone needs to use it they have to get one of us at the front desk to unlock it and we take them to whatever floor they need to go to. Basically it’s really only for people who actually have some sort of medical reason for not being able to use the stairs. For example, you’re in a wheelchair...

Word of the day
Today was a dreary day at work. I don’t know if it was the weather or what, but we were all feeling pretty sluggish. As I was doing my rounds and cleaning up the glow-in-the-dark room exhibit, a boy there told me a delightful little story:
“Sometimes when I’m at home I take two sips of coffee and then I go on a rampage and then I get sent outside.”
You dear child are the...

Joan Crawford was known for being very dedicated to her fans and spent a great deal of time personally responding to each letter that was sent to her (except fanmail from former classmates at Stephens College - they know what they did). Joan, being so devoted to her fans, occasionally will come back from the dead to answer your questions. Here she is now in all her resurrected glory.
Q. Joan - I...

Use your words Chloe
My co-worker, Karen, recently said that I need to use my words when dealing with customers. The other day we had some kids running through the museum yelling and screaming. Karen found the parents and politely and calmly diffused the situation. Karen is very good at customer service. She came by and told us how she handled things. I replied that I would have gone up to the kids and said something...

Well, when you put it that way, how can I refuse?
Yesterday I went salsa dancing at the Century Ballroom. It was lots of fun, but of course no night of dancing would be complete without the token weird guy; and this guy was a real winner. Now in the world of social dancing, proper etiquette dictates that the gentleman should at least ask the lady if she would like to dance, but this guy literally just grabbed my hand and pulled me onto the dance...

Old People
My hairdresser asked me if I wanted to make some money helping out one of her elderly clients, Gerry, who recently had hip surgery. Gerry occasionally needs someone to spend the night, make her breakfast in the morning, take care of her dog, clean up around the house, and drive her to various appointments. Since I have some free time I agreed to do this. Gerry is a very nice old lady, and the work...

First Post
Hello. Today I created my first post for the What Would Joan Crawford Do blog. I was inspired to start this today since I received my belated birthday present from my sister this afternoon. I was given a copy of “Joan Crawford Hollywood Martyr,” which will, I’m sure, prove to be a wonderfully scandalous biography of our dear friend Joan. I will write more later.
